It’s hard to believe we’re wrapping up another year already. Now I have a question for you. How many photos do you have with your kids or partner from this year? Is it enough?

I know all of the excuses for why folks don’t do family photos, I’ve heard them dozens of times before and used them myself. I ‘skipped’ family photos for a few years, myself. It was so much work to coordinate outfits, I didn’t want to listen to my husband whine about it, or deal with the kids possibly not getting along and I’d schedule them once I lost a little weight. But you know what happened in those few years? I missed capturing that connection with my kids at the sweetest ages. Of course I have photos with them together, but not with ME, not as a family unit.

The last few years I’ve really prioritized family portraits for my own family. As my children have gotten older, I’ve come to realize just how fast it goes and that I will never regret having these pictures. Do they always get along? Nope. Have I lost the weight I said I wanted to? Nope. And even the husband stopped whining and now treasures the albums we have. And coordinating outfits?? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered 😉
