Whether you’re planning a trip to Dallas, new to the city and trying to learn it, or simply wanting to explore Dallas more, here are a few iconic Dallas locations you should definitely consider visiting.

Fun places to visit on your vacation to Dallas

  1. The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza – This museum is dedicated to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. It’s located in the former Texas School Book Depository in downtown Dallas. While the museum’s content is obviously a serious matter, it provides all kinds of opportunities for kids to learn about history, civics, pop culture, and so much more.

  2. The Giant Eyeball – This 30-foot-tall sculpture of an eyeball is located in downtown Dallas and is a unique, fun sight to see! Find it at 1601 Main St.

  3. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden – The 66-acre garden is filled with a wide variety of plants, flowers, and trees, making it one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. Consider going in the morning if you have little ones before the afternoon heat sets in.

  4. The Reunion Tower – This 560-foot-tall tower offers a stunning 360-degree view of Dallas and surrounding areas. There is an observation deck, a revolving restaurant, and a gift shop to explore.

  5. Pioneer Plaza – This downtown plaza is home to the world’s largest bronze sculpture of a cattle drive, with an impressive 49 bronze steers and 3 cowboys. It’s not far from Dealey Plaza!

  6. The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is a one-of-a-kind cable-stayed bridge with one of downtown Dallas’s best views.

  7. The Perot Museum of Nature and Science – This museum is dedicated to exploring the natural world through interactive exhibits and is home to the world’s largest dinosaur exhibit. It’s enjoyable for both kids and adults but keep in mind that it’s closed on Tuesdays when planning your trip.

  8. The Bishop Arts District – Home to a wide variety of unique shops, restaurants, and galleries, making it a must-visit destination for any traveler to Dallas.

  9. The Dallas World Aquarium – Exotic birds, reptiles, and mammals live in this aquarium, along with a huge variety of marine life from all over the world.

  10. The State Fair of Texas is an annual event that takes place in the fall and is one of the biggest state fairs in the country. It offers a massive selection of food, entertainment, and exhibits. It’s as Texas as you can get!

  11. Last but certainly not least, come visit me at my photography studio in Flower Mound! Take the opportunity to preserve your fun vacation memories in one of my beautiful outdoor locations or the studio. The best part? You don’t have to worry about packing extra clothes for good pictures OR have extra laundry to worry about after.
