As a family photographer, I will always include photos where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling. I absolutely understand the importance and value of those images. However, as an artist, my joy lies in the candid moments. The authentic, real moments between family members.

In my humble opinion, including candid photos of your kids gives your gallery a real representation of what your authentic life is.

The way they furrow their brow when they focus. The chunky little fingers, pointing off to something in the distance. The way their laugh lights up their face.

All of those small details that make up your child(ren) will eventually fade away into a teenager, and then an adult themselves.

Just look at the examples below and I double dog dare you to tell me that at least one doesn’t pull at your heart strings.
